about

From the artists, John C. and Claudia F. Saleeby Savage: Our piece was created in spite of (as a result of?) our daily anxiety and duress. Our life is constant child and elder care, as well as work (sometimes too much/ often too little). This piece, as with all things, was created during the steady stream of unceasing domestic life: piano sketches while baking bread, words for a poem chosen quickly at the kitchen table for their sound by each family member, musical arranging next to spelling homework and dishes. This piece feels rushed, disturbing and unfinished--a testament to our everyday existence during the pandemic and our country's political unrest.
